
INTRODUCTION TO INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS
This module introduces us to the role of the interior designer and the design process through a variety of design projects and experiences. We learn to think creatively, experiment, and develop a variety of solutions to design problems through an awareness of contemporary influences, current thinking and ideas.
BACHELOR OF ARTS (HONS) INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE (Semester 1)








MATERIALS AND FINISHES
This module aims to introduce us to the theory and technical aspects of surface and structural materials in relation to function and appropriate application in the interior environment. Use and care for interiors based on the study of colour, texture, fabric construction, specific finishes and properties, with an emphasis on designer selection and specification. Students will be encouraged to develop the ability to source and identify suitable materials and finishes as well as develop an understanding of their application.
CONSTRUCTION AND TECHNOLOGY
This module extends the subject Understanding Buildings to include larger scale buildings such as office blocks, high rise residential, shopping centre, etc. The focus is on building systems and it is intended to provide property and development students with a basic understanding of the materials and processes that are employed in the design and construction of larger buildings.
DESIGN COMMUNICATION
This module aims to explore the art of illustration and visual communication in the areas of children’s and adult narrative, together with editorial and journalistic illustration.
HUBUNGAN ETNIK
Kursus ini memfokuskan perbincangan tentang konsep-konsep asas hubungan etnik, meneliti perkembangan hubungan etnik di Malaysia, mewujudkan masyarakat Malaysia menurut acuan Malaysia dan hubungan antara wilayah, memahami dan menangani cabaran global dalam hubungan budaya dan etnik di Malaysia.
