WEEK 2

LECTURE

After the lecterers had reviewed every single of our sketchbooks, they started the lecture class by teaching us the importance of the icons in a drawing, the meanings of every single icons that appeared in a drawing as well the proper way to draw and write on the title block for our drawings. Below is a sample of the title block.

The title block is either placed on the right or on the bottom of a drawing

TUTORIAL

After lectures were given by both of the lecturers, we were then divided into 11 groups with 4 members in each groups. We were assigned with a new task which is to choose a furniture that is placed in the classroom, measure and draw the plan, elevation as well as section drawings of the selected furniture. And so, we started to measure the size and identify the materials used carefully.

A short 30 minutes had passed and we presented our drawings group by group. 1 representative from each groups had presented and almost everyone of us made mistakes on our drawings. We made common mistakes such as no floor lines, ceiling lines, hatching on cut sections, unit mistakes, so on and so forth. But our lecturers corrected our mistakes one by one. Below are the picture of the furniture we choose which is a whiteboard as well as the drawings of it.

HOMEWORK

Finally, we were asked to draw them in our sketchbook in scale with specifications, words must be written in architecture wordings within a page. Photo below shows the work done by me.

In the midst of our free time, our lecturer assigned two new tasks for us through Whatsapp. The first one is to find an assembly drawing followed by taking a photo as well as measure the size of a built-in cabinet. My group and I discussed about it and sent 1 assembly drawing and 1 photo of a built-in cabinet and both of them were approved. The tasks were then done successfully.
