LECTURE

Today, Miss Rafidah gave a lecture about the importance as well as the proper way of drawing the details of and built-in furnitures.

In spite of the fact that it seems very complicated on the lecture slide but when we started draw it, it became more and more easy to understand after making mistakes. It seems that making mistakes is really one of the learning process.

WEEK 3

TUTORIAL

Two new tasks were given today which is to draw the detail drawing with specifications of a built-in furniture and an assembly drawing which is a loose furniture. We start up with one of the task which is the built-in furniture, it should have been done in class but everyone could not manage to finish it so it was postponed to due at 12 midnight. The task was then divided into four different parts among the group members equally. The built-in furniture we choose is a cabinet located in one of our group member's room. The size of the cabinet was measured yesterday night so the measurements on our drawings are in exact same size. Below shows the photos and detail drawings with specifications of the built-in cabinet.

At first, we thought that drawing a simple plain white built-in cabinet is a piece of cake. But when we go in details, the cabinet is a lot more complicated than we can ever imagine. We made some mistake on the drawings, learnt from the mistakes and redraw some of them to make it more look perfect. It took us a long time struggling to finish drawing but the outcome is satisfying. In spite of the fact that making mistakes does not really matters, our mistakes are the best teachers, we learn from it and avoid to make the same mistake again.

Hence, the detail drawings of the chair above are drawn with approximate measurements and exact specifications. Throughout these 3 weeks of learning process, our group members had learnt more than expected about drawing furnitures in detail.
