Composotion
Composition is the placement or arrangement of visual elements in a work of art, as distinct from the subject of a work. It can also be thought of as the organization of the elements of art according to the principles of art. There are numerous compositional techniques to achieving a sense of unity within an artwork such as rule of thirds, rule of odds, rule of space, simplification, limiting focus, geometry and symmetry so on and so forth.
On the left is the video for this assignment. The chosen object matter is perspectives. Which includes 1, 2 & 3 point perspective. All photos are taken inside the campus.
Papercutting
Papercutting is the art of cutting paper designs.
The chosen subject matter for the asymmetrical composition is a stylish rock girl playing an electric guitar. On the other hand, optical illusion had been chosen for the symmetrical composition.
Art Movement
An art movement is a tendency or style in art with a specific common philosophy or goal, followed by a group of artists during a restricted period of time or at least, with the heyday of the movement defined within a number of years. Art movements were especially important in modern art, when each consecutive movement was considered as a new avant-garde.
The chosen Art Movement for this assignment among 136 of them is The International Typographic Style, also known as the Swiss Style, it is a graphic design style developed in Switzerland in the 1950s that emphasizes cleanliness, readability and objectivity. Hallmarks of the style are asymmetric layouts, use of a grid, sans-serif typefaces like Akzidenz Grotesk, and flush left, ragged right text.




Colour Theory
Definitions of hue, value, saturation, secondary
colours, tertiary colours, analogous colours, monochromatic colours, tint & shade.
Descriptions of warm colours & cold colours.
Colour symbolizations of regal, freshness, joy & passion.

Colourful Carousel
A huge, floatable and colourful carousel model. It was made by using purely styrofoam. The colour concept of this carousel was painted based on the colour wheel from colour theory.
During the presentation, it succeed to float on the lake in our campus. This carousel model looked amazingly fascinating at night with the LED lights flashing all around the carousel.




Greeting Cards
3 simple greeting cards were made based on the concept of paper 3D pop up.
The first card is a silver red Christmas greeting card. The cover of this card was designed to be like a gift box using ribbons wrapping around it. There is a 3D rudolf poping up inside the card along with some greeting words.
The second card is a silver blue and violet Christmas greeting card. The cover of this card shows the christmas tree inside a house through a white window. A huge white christmas tree will pop up ones the card is widely open.
The third card is a Valentine's Day card. The cover page is obviously simple and neat. Huge 'LOVE' letter will be poping up from the card ones the card is open gently. Moreover, there are few more random sized handmade origami heart sticked on the bottom of the card.
